Why should I buy travel insurance?

• Sufficient insurance protection: When traveling within the EU your national health insurance will pay costs, but not all of them. In non-european countries there will be no protection at all. In order to avoid immense treatment costs on your side, it is advisable to buy travel health insurance prior to the start of your trip. 
• Visa application: In many countries it is mandatory to have sufficient health insurance coverage when applying for a visa or entering the country. For example, a proof of insurance is necessary for your working holiday visa Australia or New Zealand and also for a J1 visa for entry in the USA or the Schengen visa for Europe.

IMPORTANT: Insurance coverage should always be purchased prior to the start of your trip and for the entire stay abroad. In case your travel plans change, simply inform CareMed on time by submitting the applicable change under login.
